I am very close to my 50th post. Today I went through all the tittles on my blogs and read a couple and I realized that I had four or five drafts...I think...WELL anyways, the point is that I have enjoyed blogging a lot and I plan to continue blogging until I am being chased by insane people trying to kill me. I intended to write about something but all of a sudden I realized today that there's something bothering me a bit. Actually Monkey had a recent blog about all the things he hates, and, although some things in that list seem a little overboard, I have to say that I think everyone has a few of those. Like for example, pet peeves. I had never heard this term until I'd say three years ago give or take a year or so; but the point is that I think its ridiculous. Why is it called a pet peeve?! Well according to my friend Merriam Webster, a peeve is transitive verb and it means:
When it is just used as a noun it means:
1 : a feeling or mood of resentment
2 : a particular grievance or source of aggravation
And yet, put together as pet peeve it means:
-A frequent subject of complaint. (By the way, its also a noun)
OK so this blog is not about pet peeves, I just wanted to point out how ridiculous English is. Today though was about the climax of my decision. I don't like to talk about how people's attitudes are wrong because in the end they are sometimes justified, but when they aren't it is only fair that I either mock them or that I complain. I will do the latter for this case.
What bothers me is when someone thinks they know everything. I'm not talking about a Smart-Alec, I am talking about someone lacking proper intelligence and yet they pursue to believe that they are correct or that their reasoning is more precise than that of an educated person. It's even worse when that person has many years of study and experience. Now I'm not saying that educated people are always right or that they are perfect and don't make mistakes.
SCENARIO:
- A teacher is instructing on a certain lesson. Everyone else is following the teacher and doing as she says. Everything is in the book. Then comes this person saying that what the book says is not right. Then they continue to insinuate that they are right and attempt to convince those around him/her that their reasoning is correct.
Then I hear the word no. Those two letters can really be a pain in the hind if it becomes constant. In other words, HOW THE HECK DO YOU CONTINUE TO THINK YOU ARE RIGHT IF IT IS A FACT THOUGHT BY SOMEONE OF HIGHER EDUCATION THAN YOU AND IT IS WRITTEN IN THE BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!! ASJFOEIJAKSJF EI FSKDJFOEIJFAKJER KSFJOEI!!!!!!
Thought I might just let it out. Now I am going to read some more facts in my history book.
