Beautiful Girls

I have time and topic to write so why not? Lately I have been tortured by an idea. Its not something that is terribly bad but at the same time its not good. I know most girls will agree with me in the subject but as always there will be those who disagree which is why the first bill of rights exists. In either scenario I will just get down to business.

I hate when guys try to give girls beauty advice of tell them how to dress, wear their haircut or makeup. Specially if the guy is the kind to forget to even wear cologne. Guys simply can look good on a t-shirt and jeans while we girls have to struggle to "fit" the guy's ideas of beauty.

First of all guys have the same body shape overall. I mean there are those that can be thicker and those that can be more built and certainly those with short necks but in general the body structure is very square. With girls it is VERY different. This is the best link I could find to give a decent description of body types. . Then again, there are more popular names like pear shape, apple shape, and hourglass shape. We do not chose our body types and we cannot do anything to change them. There is no exercise that will change our body. It is the bone and muscle structure that makes the shape we have and the only way to balance it is to find clothes that will somewhat dissimulate our not so perfect bodies.

The second thing is also very important. The fact that we have to find clothes to dissimulate our bodies will not allow us to wear certain things. If we do it, it will worsen our shape. My mom likes to say
'de la moda lo que te acomoda' (out of fashion wear only what fits) and this cannot be more true. Just because you like a certain look does not mean that if we wear it it will look good. We know better so don't try to change that!

Third. Hair is complicated so don't make it worse. If you like girls with split ends and hair that smells like old onions then you are certainly into the straight hair look. There are many hair products without a doubt and all were made for a reason: because our hair is just like our body. There are those with thin hair, thick hair, curly hair, nappy hair, straight hair, frizzy hair, dry hair, oily hair, weak hair and permed hair. No wonder all these products were made. There are two types of damage all flat irons create: heat damage and mechanical damage. Heat damage is unavoidable, since the hotter a flat iron, the better it works (up to 450 °F (232 °C)). Less mechanical damage is achieved through smoother plates. Most plates are aluminum and coated with such things like a ceramic coating. As cheaper coatings wear off, the level of mechanical damage increases. Eventually hair will fall off and the wig industry will boost. Make up.

Everything so far is very reasonable but the next thing is a little more delicate. There are many disputes about what age a girl should wear makeup and how much. It is very common though to wear eyeliner. Let me say something about this instrument. It is the worst makeup ever! But then again, that's just my opinion and reality is that it runs with the humidity of the eye and then you end up with black splotches under your eyes. Not all waterproof makeup works and that applies to eyeliner which tends to not show when it is waterproof. Do not ever expect a girl to wear makeup a certain way. First make sure her parents are ok with it. Then make sure that the girl is comfortable wearing it. The best thing to do is to tell the girl's friend and it will be up to her to give her the advice if it's beneficial.

Now just because as human as we girls are and we cannot live without some kind of attention (and this CANNOT be denied!!!) does not mean that we will always give in to your charm if we know something does not accommodate our look. Sorry boys. I would like to question the sanity of those that let the media get in their head. We are not all and cannot be like the Victoria's Secret "Angels ". Get real and be nice. Accept women as we really are: beautiful girls.

Face in Shock: Priceless.

I'll take a few minutes off my stress to finally blog.

[long sigh]

The past school year, I have to say, has been a totally different experience. For once I was not in any Advanced Placement classes and as annoying as that was, I was very stress free for the most part. I did though have some challenges like French two which did not get easier and of course Algebra. I haven't always hated math and I've been able to do a decent job at it too and yet when I am asked to do a multi-step problem with letters and exponents and square roots and other such thing...that is when I start to despise math. I like my teacher though so I can say that I am trying. Besides that I would like to keep my class rank.

Junior year was supposed to be my hardest year. But everyone has been saying that the next year will be harder and honestly, I think of it as an ignorant lie. It is only hard if you slack!!! DUH! XP

I can say from experience that it is only hard if you have any AP classes and by hard I mean that there will be A LOT of homework but it is not impossible. It will only be a challenge if you take a college class...which is what I decided to do...and it was great. I actually have to say that being a social studies lover I quite enjoyed the class...SOMETIMES.

Let it be known that my teacher has a lot of experience and reputation that I will not tangent on due to the following example:

STUDENT: "Ms. Blah-blah I was up until two last night doing a project for Ms.(we'll call her Ms. Lady)
TEACHER: " Oh...*sigh* I understand. Its ok turn it in tomorrow. It won't be late."

That is pretty much how it goes. If it was for Ms. Lady, its excused. So grateful that I was because I only used that line twice. College is not as hard as it is explained or thought to be. It is a lot of work but it's not hard work. You are expected to preform well on a lot of material at a time but you are also given notice of when you need to be ready the very first day the professor hands the rubric for the semester. That is college. NO LATE WORK NO EXCUSE!

Its a good thing that its finally over and yet I have a little voice inside of me wanting to vent over one issue.

->generalizations<-

I HAAAAAAATE THEMM!!!!!!!!! >_<++++

Allow me to explain the situation. As I previously said, we are given notice of when we have major essays due and when our tests will be and therefore we have no excuse to say we were not prepared or given a warning. When we 'practiced' our first essay, we did it with the intention, according to Ms. Lady, to evaluate our writing skills. (PS if you don't like reading and writing, you better like math because that is all college is.) Our professor mentioned a few examples of study methods and in those she included a study group. A study group is very self-explanatory: a group gets together to study. That is just what we did since the very VERY first essay. As a group we consisted of four alumni capable of staying on task and contributing to the material in order to prepare topics. A topic took about an hour to cover. We always had to cover three topics AT LEAST. How did we do this? For about a week we would gather in a classroom to discuss all the information, take notes, do extra research, ask questions, fill in gaps of knowledge and ending in an outline to write a Position paper or a Test thesis. I do have some of the funniest inside jokes (railroads and time traveling...lmbo) with my study group that I learned to love. There was not a test that we failed to gather. We all became high B almost A students and yet after every test we had to tolerate the same lecture.

"THE TESTS WERE NOT GOOD!!!!!!" is a good summary of what we would hear for about an hour. We had B's and A's on our tests while the rest of the class managed with C's and D's. Let it be known that there were a few exceptions to the latter.

The final blow came on the last section test that we took. We stayed after school for a week until past 5 to study the material that was also bunched up with a reading passage that had to be analyzed as well as study material for our final exam and yet when it came down to the old lecture one phrase paralyzed me....

"YOU GUYS DON'T STUDY! WHAT IS THE STUFF THAT YA'LL ARE MAKING UP ON THE TESTS! THE WAY YOU STUDY IS IN A STUDY GROUP AND YOU DIVIDE THE WORK AND DISCUSS!!! ALL OF YOU SHOULD BE MAKING A'S AND I'M STILL SEEING C'S!!! IF YOU GUYS PUT ANY TIME LIKE I DID THIS PAST WEEKEND YOU GUYS WOULD HAVE NO TROUBLE WRITING THESE ESSAYS! HOW MORE SPECIFIC CAN THE QUESTION BE!? I SPENT TEN HOURS GRADING AND THIS WORK TELLS ME THAT YA'LL STUDIED THE PERIOD BEFORE! YOU CANNOT WING TESTS IN COLLEGE!!!!"
She had a pulsing vein on her neck and her face was turning purple...we all thought she was gonna blow up...she didn't...she just kept yelling.

I'm sorry but I wanted an apology. Our study group put in as much study time as she did grading time and yet we had to be put in a general accusation. We have plenty of witnesses to prove so: students, teachers and even janitors!!! I believe that if there is no proof to make an accusation or even a statement then it shouldn't be done!!! >_< What happened then next day??? Coincidentally we had to be in the room next door and Ms. Lady walked in, and in shock, walked out with as much pride as she can fit in her five feet tall body. Too bad all we got is "oh well they all make A's" as if she didn't know what had happened.

I am opinionated on these things and although we didn't get proper credit it was all worth it. Her face was priceless.
